How Qudra 2 contributed to social cohesion
Ethical journalism and accurate media content are key to social cohesion
Journalists in Jordan and Lebanon – both men and women, refugees and locals – have come together to receive training and produce videos. This collaboration fosters mutual exchange and greater understanding among the participants, while also increasing their awareness of the importance of neutrality when covering refugees and other vulnerable communities. Training is provided in close cooperation with respected institutions such as the Al Jazeera Media Institute.
The materials produced by trainees have had a positive impact on the audience, as evidenced by the comments, shares, and private messages received by the media asking for more information and assistance. Consequently, the journalists involved in the workshops are likely to continue to report, contributing to the creation of a balanced media sphere and sharing stories from the region.
